Incineration Plant

Dioxin Control Technique

Proper incineration of contaminated material is the best available method of preventing and controlling exposure to dioxins. It can also destroy PCB-based waste oils. The incineration process requires high temperatures, over 850°C. For the destruction of large amounts of contaminated material, even higher temperatures (1000°C or more) are required.

The current requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for waste incinerators are as follows, and the following three conditions must be met to enable discharge.

1. The combustion temperature downstream of the secondary air injection port shall not be lower than an hourly average value of 850 degrees Celsius.

2. Gas retention time in existing incinerators shall reach more than 1 second; in newly established incinerators it shall be more than 2 seconds.

3. Carbon monoxide (CO) at the stack outlet shall not be lower than an hourly average value of 100 ppm. Emission oxygen concentration shall take 10% as reference standard.

4. Emission oxygen concentration shall be 6% or higher.

5. The exhaust gas temperature at the dust collection equipment intake shall be lower than 280 degrees Celsius for existing incinerators, and lower than 200 degrees Celsius for newly established incinerators.

The dioxin emission standard value is 0.1 ng-TEQ/Nm3 .

1.Urea injected system: reduce nitrogen oxide production.

2.The semi-dry washing tower : is sprayed into the milk of lime system to remove acid gas.

3.Activated carbon injected system: remove harmful substances such as dioxin.

4. Finally, the waste gas passes through a baghouse to remove particulate pollutants.

After treatment, the waste gas is far below the emission standard.

3.The wet smoke washing tower uses NaOH to remove acidic substances in the exhaust gas. The primary smoke washing tower is for temperature reduction and acid removal, and the second one is for dehumidification and acid removal.

4. The catalyst reaction tower mainly decomposes dioxin in the exhaust gas into harmless substances.
